A Transformative Weekend at the Oxford Trauma Conference
Last week, the Equanima team joined leading psychologists, therapists, and coaches at the Oxford Trauma Conference, an event that brings together some of the brightest minds in trauma-informed care, psychology, and emotional well-being.
From the moment the doors opened, our stand became a natural gathering point for professionals curious about a new way to approach emotional intelligence. What followed was a weekend filled with meaningful conversations, powerful workshops, and connections that reminded us why this work matters.
Connection Through Curiosity and Play
Our signature emotional intelligence tools, featuring beautifully illustrated characters and interactive cards, sparked curiosity and engagement right from the start. Visitors were drawn to explore, play, and reflect, often returning with colleagues and friends to share the experience.
For many attendees, Equanima stood out for its accessibility and practicality. They appreciated how our tools make complex psychological concepts easier to understand, apply, and teach, whether in clinical settings, coaching sessions, classrooms, or self-reflection practices.
Workshops That Inspired and Connected
Throughout the event, our live workshops offered participants the chance to experience emotional intelligence in action. Each session invited attendees to explore the layers of their own emotional patterns and triggered responses, combining reflection, guided dialogue, and hands-on interaction.
The response was incredible. Many participants shared that the sessions not only deepened their understanding of emotional intelligence but also reignited their motivation to bring these practices into their daily work.
Tools That Sparked Meaningful Conversations
Our emotional intelligence card decks resonated strongly with both new and seasoned professionals. Many attendees expressed interest in adapting the tools for their own practice, from therapeutic settings to corporate well-being programs.
We also had insightful conversations around digital well-being. While some professionals prefer offline tools, others were excited by how Equanima’s mobile app and digital platform bring emotional intelligence into the online space, bridging traditional and modern approaches to mental health.
A Shared Vision for the Future of Emotional Intelligence
The Oxford event was more than an opportunity to showcase our tools, it was a reminder of how much the world needs accessible, science-based emotional intelligence education. From conversations about trauma-informed practices to requests for a children’s version of our decks, one thing was clear: people are hungry for tools that make emotional growth tangible and actionable.
Our team left Oxford deeply inspired, grateful for the energy and feedback we received, and more motivated than ever to continue building tools that bring awareness, empathy, and connection to everyday life.
Looking Ahead
As Equanima continues to expand its global community of practitioners and learners, our mission remains the same: to make emotional intelligence practical, evidence-based, and human-centered.
We’re already working on new workshops, digital tools, and an upcoming Trauma-Informed Emotional Intelligence Certification launching later this month, designed for professionals ready to deepen their practice with neuroscience-based frameworks and practical application.
Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared your stories, and helped make Oxford an unforgettable milestone in our journey. 💙
